There is no collective defense without collective intelligence and counterintelligence. France has remained the only permanent member of UNSC in EU while Europe needs the initiative and coordination along with other EU nations to form the effective coll.. EU should act autonomously within NATO as a heavier member, encompassing the EU member states, to prevent the main 5ys partners interfere illegally on EU soil. As a nuclear superpower with Space and so forth tech, Europe miss the French level of security, while the rest of the states appear strongly compromised by the overseas command and control over WW2 outcome. Yankees and Englishmen, apparently, still believe they are fighting with Moscow for and over Europe
